Today Sony announced two new members to its Xperia Family, the Sony Xperia SP and the Sony Xperia L. Both handsets which will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will be available in black, white and red and are expected to go on sale in the second quarter of 2013.
The Sony Xperia SP features a 4.6 inch touch Reality display with a 720 by 1280 pixel resolution and Sony’s Bravia Mobile Engine 2, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel camera with an Exmor RS sensor capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary camera for video calls, NFC, 4G LTE connectivity, a 2370 mAh battery and is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM.
The Sony Xperia L features a 4.3 inch touch display, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel camera with an Exmore RS sensor capable of 720p HD video capture, HDR mode for photos and video, a 1700 mAh battery, a secondary camera for video calls and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM. The Xperia L weighs 137g and is 9.7mm thin.
