Despite recently releasing the more powerful Microsoft Surface Pro to the public, it is good to see that Microsoft is continuing to attend to the ARM powered Surface RT tablet.
This is the third update in a series of updates to the Surface RT and you haven't updated your device in the past, you can check for updates by following these steps:
- Open PC Settings, by swiping in from right edge (or, if using a mouse, point to upper-right corner of screen)
- Tap or click Settings
- Tap or click Change PC settings
- Under PC settings, tap or click Windows Update
- Tap or click Check for Updates
February update
The February cumulative update includes improved Surface Wi-Fi reliability, connectivity in various scenarios, and performance improvements including:- Addressing several ‘Limited’ Wi-Fi connection issues
- Contains driver updates improving performance with Windows, Volume and Power buttons.
January update
- Fixes for specific audio playback issues when Surface is in Connected Standby.
- Additional capabilities for handling firmware updates during low battery situations.
December update
- Support for Access Point names (SSID’s) such as “Eric’s Phone_1” including non-standard-ASCII special characters such as: ñ, ö, ü, á, é.
- Reduction in scenarios resulting in “Limited” WiFi connectivity.
