Google Nexus Q discontinued ?

The Google Nexus Q is a streaming multimedia device which runs . It was released during Google I/O 2012 and allows you to stream your digital content from the cloud to your home stereo of HD-TV.

Now it looks like Google maybe discontinuing the item as it has been labeled with "Nexus Q is no longer available for sale."

Despite being a great concept its $299 price tag was its biggest problem. Especially since similar products cost only $100. After the initial batch was sold, there was no word on the future of the device and it seemed that it was destined to be a reference device for what Google wanted to see from other companies.

Ever since then its product page on Google Play has been labeled with “This device is not for sale at this time." Until the most recent update to its product page indicated that it maybe discontinued. The fact that manufacturers didn’t release any new devices during CES 2013 could also indicate that Google’s attempt at influencing their partners with this device hasn’t been successful.

In any case Google I/O 2013 is slowly drawing closer and we may even see a successor to this product revealed.
