Windows Phone 7.8 will be released on Wednesday ?

Windows Phone 7.8 was recently demonstrated running on a Nokia Lumia 510 in China. The video showed the new start screen along with a few rumored features we are expecting with the update. Now there is new information suggesting that the update for Windows Phone 7.5 devices may be released as early as Wednesday, November 28th.

There has been very little official information about Windows Phone 7.8. The new Start Screen will allow users to customize the size of their Live Tiles, similarly to Windows Phone 8. There will also be new tile colors, a Bing lock screen wallpaper, IE security updates and the ability to create ringtones from your MP3 files.

Nokia promises some added benefits for their users including the ability to produce draft versions of SMS messages and the ability to keep Wi-Fi running even when the phone is in sleep mode.

Hopefully the update will begin its roll-out process this Wednesday and will eventually reach all the Windows Phone 7.5 users around the world. However we still remain disappointed that Microsoft chose the loyal few who chose their Windows Phone 7.5 devices and hope that the update will offer a little more that we currently expect.
