Unlocked Apple iPhone 5 is now available for purchase from Apple website in the U.S.

The U.S. market was one of the first to get access to the Apple iPhone 5, but the only devices which were available remained locked to carriers and available only with contracts. Now that’s about to change as you can purchase an unlocked iPhone 5 from Apple’s website in the U.S.

The device is available in three storage variants and in two colors. You can purchase the 16GB model for $649, 32GB for $749 and the 64GB for $849. All three models will ship in one week and Apple is currently limiting online orders to two devices per person. Keep in mind that the device will work only on supported GSM networks which include AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S.

The iPhone 5 features a 4-inch Retina touch display, up to 64GB of internal storage, an updated 8 megapixel camera which is capable of 1080p video capture, a secondary 720p camera for Facetime video calls and is powered by an Apple A6 processor.

In order to use the device on a GSM carrier of your choice, you will be required to purchase an appropriate (nano) SIM card, which will not be provided with your purchase.

If you don’t like being tied to a two-year contract with your carrier or you have been waiting to use the iPhone 5 on T-Mobile, you can purchase one right now by following the source link.
