Google Galaxy Nexus for Verizon receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update
The Google Galaxy Nexus for Verizon is finally receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update. After months of vigorous testing the latest version of Android has finally been approved and is rolling out to users. This is a great example of carrier’s delaying software updates, as the Verizon version had to wait over three months to get its share of Jelly Bean.
Verizon has been working on fixing an LTE issue on the Galaxy Nexus, but delayed updates has been a common issue even for the Galaxy Nexus. The Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update took nearly five months to finally reach the device. We are glad that it hasn't been so bad this time around.
The update carries the build JRO03O and has just started rolling out. The update will only be available over Wi-Fi until October 1st, so keep in mind that you will only be able to use your data connection to download the update after that.
Have you received Android 4.1 Jelly Bean ? What are your thoughts on the smooth performance of Project Butter, Google Now and the improved notifications. Share your experience with the update below.
