Microsoft unveils new logo after 25 years

Microsoft

Microsoft is making some of their biggest changes recently in their product lineup and today they have even unveiled a new company logo. The new logo which adopts the four colored tile from the old Windows logo is modern and simplistic keeping in line with Microsoft’s approach to their Windows ecosystem.

Its been 25 years since Microsoft last changed their logo, and many of us would be familiar with the block, italic logo which have grown accustomed to.

One notable addition is the logo is the Symbol. Previously Microsoft was only represented by the Logotype. By adding the symbol Microsoft offers a new means of representation.

By adding a symbol Microsoft is looking to reach out to a younger audience and similar to their experience with the Xbox product lineup they can use this as an opportunity to represent their new image with just the symbol or the full logo.

We can expect the new Microsoft logo to make its way through Microsoft’s product lineup. Initially it will appear on the Microsoft websites and eventually on future Microsoft hardware and software products.
