The Samsung Galaxy S III for Sprint received a security update just last month, and it doesn't seem like the folks at Sprint were able to plug the security hole with that update.
The carrier has now released another OTA (Over the Air)software update for the Galaxy S III and you can check for the update availability by heading over to Menu > Settings > About Phone > System Updates > Update Android.
The update will take the software version on the phone to L710VPLG2 and no new features are expected other than the security fix.
The Samsung Galaxy S III for Sprint features 4.8 inch Super AMOLED HD display, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD and an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video, LTE connectivity but is powered by a dual core processor unlike the international Samsung Galaxy S III which has a quad core CPU under its hood.
We hope that Galaxy S III users wont have to wait too long before they can savor Android 4.1 Jelly Bean which is set to arrive on the Nexus Series and the Motorola Xoom sometime in July.
