Google Play officially announced


Google today sent out an email announcing the launch of Google Play, an integrated destination of apps, books, movies and music. It will be available to anyone who owns an Android device and be a combination of Android market, Google Music and Google eBookStore.

With Google Play you can:
  • Store up to 20,000 songs for free and buy millions of new tracks
  • Download more than 450,000 Android apps and games
  • Browse the world’s largest selection of eBooks
  • Rent thousands of your favorite movies, including new releases and HD titles
The Android Market app will be updated on Android devices as the Google Play Store app, and all the videos, books, and music apps will be upgraded under the new branding. All the content you have downloaded will continue to be available under the new app branding.

Google is also offering a special "7 Days to Play" promotion where different albums, books, videos and apps will be offers at special prices each day of the coming week.
