Click on each photos to zoom in for a closer look of the amazing Nokia 808 PureView photo quality
The camera used over sampling to combine up to seven pixels into one "pure" pixel, thus eliminating the visual noise you generally find it camera phones. The device has a zoom of 3X without any loss of details in your photos and there are no artificially created pixels in your photos. You can also capture high resolution photos at 38 megapixels and save them in a size which you find suitable.
The low light performance is also drastically improved thanks to the oversampling technology on th 808 PureView. The device is capable of capturing five times (5x) more light than a typical optical zoom camera at full zoom. Under normal lighting conditions you get to enjoy faster shutter speeds which in turn reduce the effects of camera shaking.
The Nokia 808 has now set a new standard for camera phone photography and it will be interesting to see how the competitors respond. While Nokia Belle is an amazing operating system, I am curious if the device will be adopted with open arms considering the platforms inevitable demise. If Microsoft had managed to get Windows Phone ready for PureView, Nokia would have had a great opportunity to catapult back to the top. That being said, I will remain hugely optimistic for this device's success. I cannot wait to trial this device and would surely be one of the first in line to get my hands on a Nokia 808 PureView when it goes on sale.
