Sony Ericsson has surprisingly officially released an alpha build of Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) with the TimeScape UI for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V.If you feel adventurous and want to try out this early ICS build on your device you can use our step-by-step guide which follows:
NOTE - This is an alpha build and many required features are still non functional. If you are planning to use this device on a day to day basis we would recommend not installing ICS until Sony Ericsson releases the final build.
NOTE - Currently features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Calls are non functional. This build is for testing purposes to give the user an idea of what to expect in the final build of ICS for your Xperia device.

NOTE - Make sure your device has the latest software release (4.0.2.A.0.42) You can check this under settings. If you aren't using the latest build update it using the Sony Ericsson PC Companion
- Unlock your device bootloader.
- Download Android Ice Cream Sandwich for the Xperia Neo V.
- Download and Install the Android SDK and setup adb/fastboot.
- Extract the contents of the .zip file downloaded in Step 2
- Use command prompt and navigate to your fastboot directory
- Flash the three files found in the zip file using fastboot. Replace the paths with your own paths in the following commands.
- fastboot flash boot ..\Fastboot\Xperia_arcS_ICS_alpha\boot.img
- fastboot flash userdata ..\Fastboot\Xperia_arcS_ICS_alpha\userdata.img
- fastboot flash system ..\Fastboot\Xperia_arcS_ICS_alpha\system.img
- Reboot your Sony Ericsson Xperia device.
If you have followed the steps correctly you should have successfully installed Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich on your Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V
