Windows Phone updated (7.10.7740.16)

Microsoft is reportedly rolling out version 7740, which is a minor update to Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, taking the operating system to version 7.10.7740.16

Windows Phone 7.5 Mango which was build number 7720 has been around for some time now, and we have seen some new Windows Phone devices made available running Microsoft's newest OS

While this build has been somewhat unexpected from Microsoft, it has been a pleasant surprise to see Microsoft work hard at releasing updates to their platform.

There has been no confirmation from Microsoft as to which devices will be receiving this update, but we know it will be addressing two issues with the OS:
  • Email threads -  Fixes an email issue related to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. With this fix, when you reply to or forward a message, the original message is now included in your response.
  • Voicemail -  Fixes a voicemail notification display issue that occurs on some European and Asian networks under certain conditions.

Please note that this update is only available for certain markets so may not be available for your Windows Phone. If any of our readers have been offered this update through Zune, please let us know in the comments section below.
