Samsung Galaxy Tab for Verizon receives Android Gingerbread software update


The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4G has received the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update. The tablet was launched with Android Froyo and Verizon has now added some new features along with the general Gingerbread treats.

Along with the Android Gingerbread version 2.3.5 Verizon and Samsung also offer improved copy and selection functionality, improved security for the PIN method for users who use the PIN security feature. Verizon has also added customization to help users manage their data plan - Users can View their data plans in real time, so that they can make sure they dont exceed their limit.

Other new features are, the download manager app, ability to use the front camera for recording, more accurate portrait and landscape re-sizing of widgets, support for Verizon's prepaid services and performance and security updates offered by Google.
