The following step by step guide will show you how to install CyanogenMod 7.1 on your HP TouchPad.
NOTE - This is an alpha release of the CyanogenMod. Please note that an alpha release could be unstable and cause issues with using your device. Things like power management and app compatibility will continue to improve in future builds so do not install unless you are sure of what you are doing.

Requirements
- Download and install Novacom on your computer. [HP]
- Download ACMEInstaller.zip, ClockworkMod Recovery and CyanogenMod 7.1 [RootWiki]
- Download Moboot
- Extract ACMEInstaller.zip to the folder where you installed Novacom.
- Connect your HP TouchPad to your computer using the USB cable
- When you get the USB Drive notification, select it and mount yourtablet as a USB storage device.
- Create a folder in your TouchPad and name it cminstall. Transfer the following files to that folder.
- update-cm-7.1.0-tenderloin-a1-fullofbugs.zip
- update-cwm_tenderloin.zip
- mobbot_0.3.3.zip
- Reset your TouchPad from Settings > Device Info > Reset
- When your screen goes black press Volume Up until you see the USB logo.
- It may take some time for your computer to recognize the TouchPad so hold the button until it does.
- Navigate to Novacom folder using the command prompt / terminal on yourcomputer and enter the following:
- novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller
If you have followed the steps correctly you should have CyanogenMod 7.1 Alpha 1 based on Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread installed on your HP TouchPad.
If you are interested in installation the official Google apps such as GMail and Google Calendar,
- Download Google Apps and transfer the files to the parent directory of your device.
- Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery mode and select
- install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > [Google Apps .zip file]
- Reboot your device
