Google to retire Google Buzz

We can't say we didn't see this one coming. Google has decided to retire their Google Buzz service permanently. The service will be phased off in the coming weeks, and users wont be able to create any new posts. Existing posts will however remain.

Google Buzz was launched back in February 2010 as a direct alternate to Twitter. Even though it was accepted by users, it was never a great hit and continued to fade especially with the launch of Google+ which is now becoming the central social network for Google users.

Another social service which will see an end due to Google+ is Jaiku. Jaiku is another alternate to Twitter and was purchased by Google back in October 2007. Jaiku will also be phased out on January 15, 2012.

What are your thoughts on these services coming to an end ? let us know in the comments section below.
