AT&T sees new demand for Apple iPhone 3GS

The Apple iPhone 3GS was originally launched in June 2009, but is seeing a renewed demand at AT&T with it's free price-tag. AT&T Chairman Ralph de la Vega says "we're getting more new subscribers coming on to the 3GS on the average than other devices. So we have an inventory sold out on that device."  and that the 3GS is responsible for most of the new subscribers that have signed up with the carrier recently.

The iPhone 3GS is the first device that Apple is offering for free with a two year contract. The 3GS features a 3 megapixel camera compared to the faster and redesigned Apple iPhone 4 which is currently being sold at $99 with the same contract for the 8GB model.

The Apple Apple iPhone 4S also continues to show good sales figures after it's record breaking debut in it's first few days on the shelf.
