In what's turning out to be a very busy day for Apple, iCloud is now available to the public. You can sign into iCloud services using your Apple ID, but you will be warned that you need an iOS 5 or Mac OS X (Lion) 10.7.2 device in order to get full access to it's services.
iCloud services and the website which were previously in beta, required a developer account in order for you to access it. Now that it has been publicly released you should be able to check the services out as long as you have the required OS.
iCloud builds on what was offered through the MobileMe and adds some much needed features. You can sync your contacts, calendars and email. You can also sync items you have purchased from the App Store and quickly access your purchases across your devices.
