Download Windows 8 Developer Build


A developer build of Windows 8 will be made available for download today following its presentation during the BUILD conference which is currently taking place.

You will be able to download the 'developer build' copy by visiting the Windows Dev Center after 8P.M. (Pacific Time) tonight. The available downloads will include a 64-bit version with developer tools to build apps or 32-bit and 64-bit versions without the inclusion of developer tools.

The BUILD conference keynote was streamed live today with the Windows team led by Steven Sinofsky, Microsoft's president of Windows division presenting the key new features in the latest version of Windows.

Windows 8 will include
  • Metro UI - which will offer the same great touch experience from Windows Phone on making use of the larger real estate on computers laptops and tablets.
  • Cloud Integrated - Windows 8 will take full advantage of the Cloud features of Skydrive and social networks offering a seamless experience un matched by any other.
  • Marketplace - Which allows users to publish their apps across the wide Windows ecosystem, giving all users access to their apps through the Windows Marketplace.
  • Best Performance - Windows 8 has continued to improve on the Windows 7 experience offering the user the best performance irrelevant of which device they use.
