Devices like the Nokia X7 and the Nokia E6 which already run Symbian Anna have been released and the older handsets which are compatible with the update are still left waiting.
If you don't want to wait for the update and want to try it today you may be in luck as a leaked version of Symbian Anna which you can download and try today.
[NOTE] This English version of Symbian Anna comes pre-hacked and features the split screen software keyboard thanks to @nkumar_ and @marvelprash.
[NOTE] This guide requires you to use Windows XP.

Please note down the following before proceeding:
- firmware version - obtain by pressing *#0000# it will be in x.xxx.xx format
- product code - sticker under battery will be in 0XXXXXX format
- Type - sticker under battery will be in RM-XXX format
Process
- Download and install Phoenix Service Software (2009/2010) [Google it]
- Download and install Navifirm.
Navifirm
- Run Navifirm, wait until the device models/codes are loaded
- Find your device model and code and select it
- When the 'Releases' section is loaded, select your desired release.
- When the 'Variants' section is loaded select your desired variant (product code).
- Wait for the firmware files to appear in the last pane.
- Select all the files and click 'Download with program'
- Select the location you wish to save the files and allow the files to be downloaded.
- Once complete copy your downloaded files.
- Go to 'C:/Program Files/Nokia/Phoenix/Products' and create a new folder.
- Name the folder RM-XXX where XXX = Type (eg: RM-596 - Nokia N8)
- Paste files coped in step 10 into your new folder (eg: 'C:/Program Files/Nokia/Phoenix/Products/RM-596)
Phoenix - Launch Phoenix and connect your device to your computer using your USB cable and select PC Suite mode.
- In Phoenix go to 'File > Scan Product' and allow your device to be detected.
- Now Select 'Flashing > Firmware Update'
- Phoenix should automatically detect the files located in the correct folder if not:
- Check your folder path in step 12.
- Open Tools > Options > Product Location in Phoenix and see if your location is present. If not set it and start from step 11 again.
- If it detects the files, select 'Refurbish' and wait until the 'Successful' message appears. DO NOT disconnect your device or USB cable during this process.
- You can now select 'Ok'. Your device will disconnect and restart.
You are done.. Hopefully it worked without an issue and you should have the latest/desired firmware on your device.
