New BlackBerry smartphones with BlackBerry OS 7 announced


RIM announced two new BlackBerry Bold devices, the BlackBerry Touch 9900 and the BlackBerry Touch 9930. Both devices feature a 2.8-inch touchscreen devices and run the new BlackBerry OS 7.

The BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 (previously known as Dakota/Magnum) is a quad-band GSM device with tri-band HSDPA+ support (upto 14.4Mbps HSDPA).

The Bold Touch 9930 (priviously known as Montana) is a dual-band CDMA phone with support for quad-band GSM and dual-band HSPA+ global roaming.

Both devices are physically identical, but we will have to wait to compare the detailed hardware specifications when they are released. Other features of the two devices include 5MP cameras capable of capturing 720p HD video, 8GB innternal storage and microSD card slots. In terms of connectivity the devices feature dual band WiFi, NFC, A-GPS and Bluetooth.

The BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 and 9930 are expected to be available this summer.
