[Windows Phone app] Skype updated (2.24) with some exclusive features

Skype for Windows PhoneSkype for Windows Phone has been updated to version 2.24 which brings a few new features and improvements. Among the new features is the ability to doodle pictures with your fingers right in the IM app to add some personal touch to your messages. Drawing can also be done on a photo that you are about to send, or on a Bing map, if you are trying to give someone locations.

[iOS app] Skype updated (5.6) with support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus

Skype for iOSSkype for iOS has been updated to version 5.6, which includes support for the larger screen sizes on the new iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. User with the larger screened iPhones will be able to see more of their recent chats and more of their contacts in the conversation view.

Skype for iOSSkype for iOS has been updated to version 5.4 which introduces the ability to take group calls on your Apple iPhone. With one tap on the device, you can arrange a Skype phone call for up to four people. All you need to do is find an existing group, and tap the big button at the bottom of the screen. You can even turn a chat or a video call, into a four-way audio conversation.

Skype for iOS version 5.0 promises "biggest change ever"

Skype for iOSToday Microsoft revealed that they will be releasing Skype for iOS version 5.0 next week, and promise that the update will bring the "biggest change ever to Skype for iPhone". This will include a major redesign along with several new features. The updated app will share a “a consistent look and feel with the Windows Phone and Android apps”, but has been rewritten for iOS from ground up.

Skype group video calls now free across Windows, Mac and Xbox One


Microsoft has announced on Monday that Skype group video calls are now free across PC, Mac and Xbox One. Previously, the feature required a Skype Premium subscription, which started at $2.99 per month. Unfortunately this offer is not extended to other mobile platforms - like Android or iOS.

Skype for Windows PhoneSkype for Windows Phone has been updated to version 2.16.0.266, which has now totally gotten rid of the old Skype login. You are now required to use your Microsoft account in order to sign into Skype. Ever since Microsoft acquired Skype, Microsoft has been very slow to take over the app. Skype was integrated into Windows and Windows Phone relatively quickly, and offered Microsoft Account as an alternate sign in method.

New Microsoft Surface tablets bundled with free Skype international calling
