Nokia N9 - Photo Samples

The Meego based Nokia N9 may have an 8 megapixel sensor compared to the Nokia N8 which comes with a 12 megapixel, but the folks at Nokia have been working hard on their latest N-Series device.

One of the biggest improvements is that they have managed to reduce the size of the sensor on the device to 70% of the N8's sensor which allows the N9 and future devices to be much slimmer.

Check out this hands on video with the Nokia N9 courtesy of folks from smashpop. The  N9 is an upcoming smartphone from Nokia and will be their first device to feature Meego. It features a 3.9 inch touch display, up to 64GB of internal storage, an 8 megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video capture, a secondary camera for video calls, NFC and is powered by a 1GHz processor with 1GB of RAM.

Two Meegos are better than one

Nokia recently announced the Nokia N9, it's first Meego running smartphone. But it looks like there is going to be more than one device powered by Meego coming from the folks at Nokia, and that is namely the Nokia N950.

Nokia N9 announced

Nokia has announced it's first Meego based handset the Nokia N9, during Nokia Connection 2011 in Singapore. The Linux based Meego operating system which was jointly developed by Intel and Nokia and features a new user interface while uses a lot of gesture based navigation.

The homescreen has three panels, which you can navigate with swipes. The first contains all the installed applications, the second has events which include notifications and messages and the third panel shows all the running applications.

We have been promised one Meego device, and it looks like Nokia is going to give us an amazing Meego experience. The N9 is expected to have a QWERTY slider and feature a 12 megapixel camera with dual LED flash.

[UPDATE] It turns out that the rumored device was in fact the Nokia N950 which is a developer only device and not the Nokia N9 which is headed to consumers.

Nokia N9 revealed

Not too long ago a device was leaked into the wild and was thought to be the Nokia N9. The device that was code named the C0 was designed very similar to the Nokia N8 and featured a QWERTY keyboard.
