Sony announces PlayStation Now cloud gaming service

Mobile gaming may still be behind console gaming, but Sony is planning to bridge that gap with their PlayStation Now service. With Sony's PlayStation Now, your games will run on Sony's servers and be streamed to your mobile devices like video. The service will provide access to Sony's library of PS3 and PS2 games to not only smartphone and tablet users, but also to owners of the PS3, PS4, the PS VITA, and even to some TVs.

Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 introduced with new Magazine UX interface

Samsung has unveiled a new lineup of tablets this year which includes the newest and largest member of the Note family - Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2. The tablet features a 12.2 inch display as its name suggests which has a 2560 by 1600 pixel resolution. This results in an impressive 247 ppi pixel density.You get up to 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8MP rear camera, a 2MP front camera and a huge 9500mAh battery which offers up to 10 hours of usage.

Asus Transformer Book Duet announced with Windows and Android

CES 2014: schedule of events for January 6

The 2014 Consumer Electronics Show is kicking off, giving the world an opportunity to see the newest gadgets and technologies on display. Plenty of mobile devices will be showcased as well, including smartphones, tablets, and everything in between. Now, the official start of CES is tomorrow, January 7, but a number of major announcements will be made on January 6th, which happens to be today.

Nvidia Tegra K1 announced with 192-core Kepler GPU, set for H1 2014 release

Nvidia has officially unveiled its new Tegra K1 mobile processor which comes with an impressive 192-core Kepler GPU. The Nvidia Tegra K1 will first come in a combination of that new Kepler graphics chip and a quad-core Cortex A15 (plus one shadow A15 core) in the first half of 2014.

NVidia announces Tegra 4 processor

NVidia LogoWith CES 2013 just about to begin in Las Vegas, NVidia have kicked things off with the announcement of their new Tegra 4 SoC for mobile devices. The new processor will feature 72 GeForce GPU cores with 4K video support, which is around 6 times the visual processing power for the current generation Tegra 3 processor. It will also feature a quad-core ARM Cortex A15 processor and a second generation battery saver core.

Panasonic ToughPad JT-B1 - Hands On Video


Panasonic has brought some new rugged tablets and products to the CES 2013. One of those new tablets is the Panasonic ToughPad JT-B1 which looks like it it can withstand any sort of punishment you can throw at it. The device features a 7 inch display with a 600 x 1024 pixel resolution and Gorilla Glass 2 protection. Additionally it meets military standard 810g and IP65 certification, which means it can withstand drops from up to 5 feet and has dust and water resistance.

This kind of protection doesn't result in an attractive device. The ToughPad JT-B1 is heavy and thick and its plastic exterior may be built to last but doesn't win any points for its looks.

This  tablet will also have a somewhat extravagant $1200 price tag tied to it, and makes us wonder how many would trade beauty to get their hands on this beast.

RIM demonstrates BlackBerry 10 operating system at CES 2013

RIM LogoThe BlackBerry 10 platform is expected to be released in just a few weeks , but meanwhile RIM has brought their new platform to the CES 2013 giving potential users and enthusiasts a chance to experience the operating system. The operating system was demonstrated on RIM’s Dev Alpha Unit and not on any of the new devices which are expected to arrive after the launch of the platform.

BlackBerry 10 offers an interesting approach to the post PC era with  a solid set of features and functionality. You can check out BB10 in action in the following video demonstration

Samsung announces Exynos 5 Octa mobile processor with eight cores


If you think mobile processors will stop with quad-cores, you will be happy to know that limit has been surpassed. Samsung has announced their Exynos 5 Octa mobile processor with features eight full processor cores. The Exynos 5 Octa belongs to the 5 series and has been built using the 28nm process and Samsung has done a lot of work to improve performance while decreasing power consumption.

Panasonic unveils ToughPad FZ-G1, world's thinnest and lightest rugged Windows 8 tablet

Panasonic has announced the ToughPad FZ-G1,which is described as the world’s thinnest and lightest rugged tablet which runs Windows 8. The device features a 10.1 inch IPS touch display, Intel Ivy Bridge processor and 3G or 4G connectivity. Users will also have the options of replaceable extended batteries, cradle docks, 360-degree handle cases and digitizer pens.

Panasonic unveils 20-inch Windows 8 tablet with a 4K resolution

panasonic - LogoWith the release of Windows 8 manufacturers have started experimenting with various form factors. Panasonic has an impressive device which they have on display at the ongoing CES 2013 which has a 20 inch display with a 4K resolution. In case you are wondering 4K resolution which is generally used in the television market refers to the horizontal resolution of the display. That would be nearly four time that of the 1080p full HD display.

Lenovo announces five more Android smartphones at CES 2013

Lenovo LogoLenovo has  a full lineup of Android smartphones which they revealed at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show. All of the devices feature dual-SIM card slots, allowing users to have the services of two carriers at the same time. The will be initially made available to the Chinese market in January 2013 followed by “select global markets” which we don’t have a list of right now.

ZTE Grand S - Hands On

The ZTE Grand S was announced today as the company’s new flagship handset and has some impressive specifications. The device features a 5 inch HD display with a 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 13 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary 2 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video calling and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM.

The device runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and features Dolby digital surround sound which augments the audio experience. ZTE has modified the onscreen navigation buttons which you can assign to different positions on your screen.

Lenovo reveals IdeaPhone K900 with 5.5 inch display and 2GHz Intel processor

As the CES 2013 rolls on we get a look at year another 5 inch display monster hoping to gain some attention. This time it is the Lenovo IdeaPhone K900 which is headed to the Chinese market, with a 5.5 inch 1080p HD display and a 400 ppi pixel density. The device chassis is built with stainless steel and polycarbonate and measures a mere 6.9 mm which the manufacturer claims is the thinnest of its class.

Huawei Ascend W1 officially announced as the company's first Windows Phone 8 device


Alongside their announcement of their new Android flagship the Huawei Ascend D2, the manufacturer has also announced their first Windows Phone 8 device, the Huawei Ascend W1. The Ascend W1 offers a modest set of features including a 4 inch touch IPS LCD display with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded thorough microSD, a 5 megapixel camera capable of 720p and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with an Adreno 305 GPU.

Huawei Ascend D2 - Hands On

One of the announcements made by Huawei during the ongoing CES 2013 in Las Vegas is the Huawei Ascend D2, a flagship Android device with a premium build quality, impressive camera and an easy to use user interface. The Ascend D1 features a 5 inch full HD display with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, 32GB of internal storage, a 13 MP camera capable of 1080p video capture, a 3,000 mAh battery and powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor.

The device runs  which is coated with the Huawei Emotion UI, which contributes to the simplicity in usability which adding personalization through downloadable themes.
