LG Optimus 2X is receiving Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich software update, but only in Korea


The LG Optimus 2X has been facing some controversy for its on off position on receiving the Android ICS update. Now LG has informed their users that the ICS update is currently being tested and will be released for Korean handsets. However LG has not stated if or when the update will be available for other regions.


The Optimus 2X was the first device to feature a dual-core processor. This may not seam like a big deal today considering there are a few quad-core handsets in the market, and that dual-core seams to be the minimum requirement for most handsets to get ICS. But the Optimus 2X turned quite a few heads when it was first released.

Samsung Galaxy Note for AT&T now receiving Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update

The is now receiving Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The update will bring all the goodies you would expect from ICS and additionally include a Premium Suite. The Suite will include special S-Pen related features, including the ability to draw shapes and have them correctly automatically, solve handwritten equations and create and send personalized cards to your friends.

Make sure you check for the availability of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for your Galaxy Note by heading over to Settings and selecting Check for Updates.

Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket receives Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update

The update which will take your software to version i727UCLf6 is unfortunately not being offered OTA (Over-the-air) and will require users to connect and update their devices using Samsung Kies.

LG Prada 3.0 receives Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update in Germany and Italy

The was launched back in February with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board, and now users of this device in Germany and Italy are receiving the  (ICS) update on their handsets. It seems like the announcement of  has triggered several manufacturers to hurry up with their ICS updates.

The update is unfortunately not being offered OTA (Over the Air) and users will have to connect their handsets to their computers with the LG Mobile Phone Support tool. Since there is no connectivity tool for Mac OS users they too will have to update their device on a Windows PC.

AT&T provides list of ‘Which devices will receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich’


With several manufacturers providing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for their devices, it is now time for the carriers in the U.S. to start pushing ICS to their customers.

AT&T has stepped forward and released a list of their phones and tablets will be receiving the ICS update.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini receives Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update


Last month we reported that the was receiving the Android ICS update and now the is getting its taste of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The update however will not be offered OTA (Over the Air). Users will have to head over to Sony’s website and see if their device SI (Sales Item) number matches that of the list of devices which are now receiving the update.


Motorola RAZR (GSM) receives Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update

The recently received the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), and now its time for GSM variant – the Motorola RAZR to get its taste of ICS.

Samsung Galaxy S II for T-Mobile gets Android ICS on June 11

The will be receiving Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) starting June 11th. This will make the T-Mobile variant the first in the U.S. to receive ICS since the International variant which revived the software update back in April.

T-Mobile made the announcement of the upcoming update through their Facebook Page. Users are advised to connect their devices to the Samsung Kies software in order to update their devices.

Motorola Xoom on Verizon gets Android 4.0 ICS starting June 4

The is finally getting its share of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). While the Wi-Fi variant users are already using the latest version of ICS on their device, users of the the 4G LTE version of the Xoom will start receiving the latest version of Android starting Monday June 4th.


It is quite disappointing that the Xoom has taken a backseat to its ICS share, given that it was the first Android tablet to feature Honeycomb. However Verizon’s Xoom users can finally start enjoying the many features and improvements which come with Android 4.0.

Which HTC devices will receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update

HTC announced that they have plans to bring the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update to a collection of their devices. If you own an HTC smartphone or tablet, you must be curious to know when your device will get its share of ICS. HTC has now made things clear and stated that a majority of their devices will receive the latest version of Android in June and July 2012.

The company has also shared a comprehensive list of devices which will receive ICS with the tentative timeline. It is important to note that carrier branded devices may take an additional 45 days to release the update for their devices.

Sony Xperia S will receive Android ICS in May/June

As more and more manufacturers start revealing their plans for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich deployment our eyes go back to Sony who have been quite open in terms of their ICS update plans. The manufacturer has been releasing alpha and beta builds of their ICS update, allowing the community to test the latest version of Android. However the question on when the Sony Xperia S is getting Android ICS has not been answered – until now.
