HTC has scheduled an event in New Delphi on July 11. The company is expected to introduce the HTC One E8 and the HTC Desire 616 to the Indian market during this event. The HTC One (E8) will get introduced as a high end model. while the HTC Desire 616 fits in a slot between the HTC Desire 516 and HTC Desire 816.
The HTC One E8 is an affordable version of the HTC One M8, which retains most of its premium specs, but the metal sheen is replaced with that of polycarbonate. The device features a 5 inch full 1080p HD display, a 13MP rear camera which replaces the duo-camera on the flagship, a 5MP front camera, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, and a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM.
Meanwhile the HTC Desire 616 features a 5 inch display with a 720 by 1280 pixel resolution, 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8MP rear camera, a 2MP front camera and a 1.4GHz octa-core MediaTek processor with 1GB of RAM.
The pricing and availability will likely be revealed during the event on Friday.
