Sony Xperia Z1 Compact receives Android 4.4.4 software update

The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is now receiving the Android 4.4.4 software update in Russia, Italy and Indonesia. The update bring the 14.4.A.0.108 build number, which has reportedly been certified by the PTCRB website for the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra. It doesn't appear that the update is rolling to these handsets though.

The Xperia Z1 Compact is the mini version of the Sony Xperia Z1. The device comes with a 4.3 inch (720 x 1280 pixel resolution) display compared to the 5 inch (1080 x 1920 pixel resolution) display on the Xperia Z1 and has a lower capacity (2300mAh vs. 3000mAh) battery.

What's great about the Xperia Z1 Compact is that it has the same 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM found on its flagship sibling. It also features the same 20.7MP rear camera which is one of the handsets biggest selling points.
