How to play nearly any video on your Chromecast

Google Chromecast

Google's Chromecast is an amazing tool which allows you to easily stream your video files to your HDTV. Unfortunately finding the right software to stream your files is not that easy, and even when you do, it won't be easy connecting to video files on your network devices. Videostream hopes to fix this.

Videostream has released its own Chrome app, which allows you to stream almost any locally stored video file to your Chromecast without the requirement of installing any other software. You can download Videostream for Chrome directly on your device through the Chrome web store or by using the following link

Additionally the developers have put together an Android app, which lets you stream local videos (downloads, etc.) from your computer to your Chromecast in full 1080p!

An iOS app is also reportedly being developed, but is not available at this time. While the app is free to download and use, you can support further development and get access to additional features (including exclusive) beta content by purchasing the premium version of Videostream. The premium version includes an ad free experience with features like PlayList Support and the ability to use the Android app as a remote control, if you don't like getting out of your couch to change videos.
