The LG G2 for Verizon is now receiving the Android 4.4 KitKat software update courtesy of the Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant. The update brings Android 4.4.2 along with improved fonts and full-screen support, emoji keyboard tweaks, and severely improved performance throughout the device.In order to install the update, you will have to manually sync your handset to a Windows PC and you'll be prompted to install software from the device including the "Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant Tool."
Follow the prompts to install Verizon and LG software onto your phone, and then run the software assistant. It will check for updates, and then install Android 4.4.2 on your LG G2. You could also consider waiting for the OTA (overthe-air) version of the update to hit your phone. Although no date for it has been announced by Verizon, the fact that the update is loaded on the software assistant could mean that the OTA update is imminent.

According to Verizon, with Android 4.4.2, color adjustment has been added, and magnification gestures have been relabeled "Touch Zoom". In fact, plenty of features have been renamed or relabeled with the KitKat update for Big Red's LG G2. "Shades" has been renamed "Screen Shades" and "Captions" has been added. "Touch Feedback Time" is the new name for "Touch and Hold Delay," while "Speak Passwords" has been changed to "Read Passwords." The "Power Button Ends Call" label has been renamed to "Power Key Ends Call" and lastly, the "Easy Access" label is now "Accessibility Settings Shortcut" label.
Android 4.4.2 brings changes to the indicator color, which is now white, and the latest location specs are now reflected. And with Android 4.4.2, basic Visual Voice Mail, with a 20 message mailbox, is now free. A premium version of Visual Voice Mail can now be purchased, which converts your voice mail to text, so that you can read it on the low down.
Verizon says that it will take 5 to 10 minutes to download the software, and another 5 to 10 minutes to install it. Keep in mind that you will not be able to make or take calls during the installation process. We also would suggest that you use a Wi-Fi connection to update your phone, and have your battery charged to at least 50%. Keep in mind that these updates are sent out on a staggered basis, which means that it might take a few days before you receive the update. If you have not received the OTA notification you can try to manually checking for the Android 4.4.2 by going to Menu Key > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for Updates.
