Nokia X receives its first Android custom ROM

Chinese company Le Frog Technology, which is mainly focused on developing ROMs for Android devices, has released the first custom ROM Lewa OS for Nokia X smartphones. Custom ROMs can let you do tons of things that the manufacturer of your device never intended. We knew it was coming, and now the first custom ROM for the Nokia X Android smartphone has been released.

Step 1 - Downloads

• Download and extract the Nokia driver file
• Download and extract the configuration file
• Download and extract the tool into your recovery
• Download the music frog from

Step 2 - Installation

1. Install all the above downloaded drivers one by one
• The NOKIA 3806 USB DRIVER Ver1.5.exe
• Nokia_Mobile_Phone_Driver_V2.00.10.ms
• NOKIA_USB_Driver_v4.8.6.msi
2. Copy the file adb_usb.ini into C:\Users\username\android directory
3. Enter the phone settings – enable developer options and check USB debugging

Step 3 - Clearing Data

• Copy the ROM LeWa_NOKIA_X_JB_ROM_XXXXX.zip to the root to the root directory of the phone
• Open the folder in which recovery has NokiaX, double click on recovery.bat
• Your device will automatically boot into recovery mode, if it is not to try again a few times
• Now you need to delete the data, choose Wipe to carry clear data
• Select Wipe on your custom recovery
• Press and slide 'Swipe to Factory Reset'
• After factory reset, select Back until you return to previous level

Step 4 - Installing Custom ROM

• Select 'Install' on your custom recovery main menu
• Find and select ROM LeWa_NOKIA_X_JB_ROM_XXXXX.zip which you copied to your device in Step 3
• Press and slide 'Swipe to Confirm Flash'.
• Once action is complete, select Home on menu
• Repeat Step 3 - Clearing Data
• Wipe > Factory Reset then press Back > Return!
• Now select Reboot on the main menu of the recovery
• Choose System
• Wait for the phone to automatically reboot back into Android

You can now enjoy the Lewa OS custom ROM on your Nokia X
