SanDisk announces 128GB Ultra microSDXC UHS-I memory card

SanDisk has introduced a 128GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I memory card at the MWC. This storage medium is capable of carrying 16 hours of full HD video, 7500 songs, 3200 pictures and more than 125 apps. The card uses the 16 memory die, which is thinner than a strand of hair, vertically stacked.

The microSD format was launched in 2004 with 128MB of capacity. That means storage has risen 1000 times in less than 10 years, which is a true testament to the rapid growth of technology. We can only marvel at the thought of what the next 10 years will bring. The new cards are designed for Android phones and tablets and are available in the states only from BestBuy.com and Amazon.com and will be priced at $199.99.
