Nokia's HERE team has announced the availability of new offline map data for their HERE services (Maps, Drive and Transit) on the Windows Phone 8 platform. The update brings more details with more map features and broader coverage to the service.
You can check for the updated maps on your device by opening HERE Maps on your Windows Phone, selecting the '...' menu on the bottom of the app and selecting 'download maps'. Now you can click 'update current maps' and click Install. The download size will depend on the maps you have already downloaded for offline use.
Here's whats new in the updated maps data for HERE
- Algeria, Benin, Georgia, Guinea, Mali, Nicaragua, Niger, Saint Helena and Togo have more detail
- House numbers introduced in seven European countries, Australia, and New Zealand
- Dramatically extended woodland coverage in Europe
- Hindi support for India’s map
