Google Nexus 5 - First Photo Samples

The Google Nexus 5 brings several new features and improvements over its predecessor, but its camera is one of the most significant enhancements offered on this device. While the unit is still an 8 megapixel one, LG and Google have worked together to bring optical image stabilization (OIS) to the device. In fact it is the same OIS tech used LG's flagship the LG G2.

We now have the first ever camera samples from the Nexus 5, giving us an opportunity to experience the enhancements the company has made with their new camera.

Firstly the images reveal that the handset comes with an f/2.5 aperture. Wider apertures with low f/ numbers and result in improved low-light performance. We are not certain if this aperture is enough for Google's ambitions for low light photography.

Additionally the ISO can go from 100 to nearly 800. While the level of detail is good, it doesn't quite blow our minds as a camera marvel either. Check the photo samples from the Nexus 5 below and leave us a comment letting us know what you think
