Today the LG G Pad 8.3 was officially announced by the Korean manufacturer. The device features an 8.3 inch touch display with a 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) resolution. LG has included an updated version of QSlide, which lets you choose between three different apps at the same time thanks to the larger glass. With Slide Aside, using a three finger slide allows you to move an open app off to the side of the screen and open a new one. The KnockON feature allows users to turn the slab on or off by tapping on the screen.The G Pad 8.3 also includes 16GB of internal storage, a 5 megapixel rear camera, a secondary 1.2 megapixel camera and is powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB of RAM. A 4600mAh battery keeps your device powered through the day and keeps the device at a reasonable 338 grams.
The device runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (Android 4.2.2) which LG has modified quite a bit. Other than the display enhancements we have mentioned above, you also have QPair app which displays the calls and messages that appear on your smartphone on your G Pad 8.3 and allow you to send simple replies directly from your tablet.
The G Pad 8.3 is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of this year in North America, Europe, Asia and other regions. LG hasnt revealed the prices the tablet just yet, but we can expect to find out soon.
