Korean manufacturer LG has scheduled an international media event on Auguest 7th in New York City. The company recently stated that they will team up with Qualcomm to offer a Snapdragon 800 processor inside one of their G Series handsets. LG has also stated that the G Series will be reserved for their high end handsets in future, while the Optimus title will be used across their mid-range and entry lineup.It is likely that LG will introduce the sequel to the LG Optimus G during the event. Especially since we have been hearing about the LG Optimus G2 for some time now. However we are wondering how the manufactuerer will choose to name the device. Its unlikely they will choose to name it the LG G2, since the title maybe confused with the LG G2X, which was the U.S. variant of the LG Optimus 2X - the first dual-core smartphone in the market. In any case, we are certain that LG will be looking to impress. Especially since they have seen the competiton in the form of the Sony Xperia Z, HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4.
