Apple iOS 6.1.2 released for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, download links available

Apple released iOS 6.1 back on January 28th, but the update faced several issues including a lock screen exploit and numerous connectivity problems affecting Microsoft Exchange users. Apple first responded by releasing iOS 6.1.1 for the Apple iPhone 4S, aimed at fixing critical connectivity issues which stopped business users from upgrading iOS.

Today Apple has released iOS 6.1.2 as expected which is expected to fix all the other problems with the iOS 6.1 update.

The update is being set to the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch devices (OTA) over-the-air or by connection your iOS device to iTunes. You can also manually download the iOS 6.1.2 software update using the following files and manually install the update through iTunes.
Apple’s iOS 6.1 update included several small features and improvements based on the feedback received from users on . The changes included a slightly updated Music apps, 4G LTE connectivity in more countries, improvements to Siri and a few enhancements to the initial setup wizard. While iOS 6.1.1 eradicated the connectivity issues faced by the iPhone 4S, a critical exploit was later found which allowed any unintended user to get past the passcode protected lock screen of any iOS device by spending a few seconds meddling with the Emergency Call feature.

This bug has been reportedly addressed in iOS 6.1.2 along with any outstanding issues with Exchange connectivity. However there isn't any certainty if the update fixes the battery draining issues iPhone 4S users complained about after receiving the iOS 6.1.1 update.

Given all the issues iOS 6.1 has been facing, users are recommended to download and install the iOS 6.1.2 update as soon as possible. However if you rely on jailbreaking your device using Evasi0n, we advise you to hold off from updating until the developers update the tool accordingly.

[UPDATE] The iOS 6.1.2 update apparently doesn't fix the passcode bypassing exploit found in iOS 6.1. Apple will hopefully address this issue in a future iOS 6.1.3 update.
