HTC Android Jelly Bean update plans revealed

While Google’s Nexus Series gets to enjoy the latest versions of Android as soon as they are released, manufacturers usually take several months to port the updates to their devices. New versions of Android sometimes brings great new features and it can become very frustrating having to wait for the release to arrive for your device.

Recently a list of all HTC devices which will receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update has been leaked and we can start checking or crossing off if our devices are eligible for the latest version of Android. The list may not be full or definite, so do keep in mind that your device may still receive an update. But if you own one of the following devices, you wont have long to wait.

• HTC One X+ (Evitare)
• HTC One XL (Evita)
• HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE (Fireball)
• HTC EVO 4G LTE (Jewel)
• HTC One SV (K2)
• HTC One VX (Totem C2)
• HTC One S (Ville)
• HTC One S C2 (Ville C2)
• HTC J ISW13HT (Valente)

HTC has already confirmed that the HTC One X will receive Jelly Bean and that devices with less that 512MB of RAM will not be eligible for Jelly Bean. So we cant help but wonder why devices like the HTC Sensation and the HTC Desire X which meet the required specifications haven't made the list. But we have to assume this is because these devices have reached the end of their update life cycle.
