Microsoft Surface survives drop test while capturing video to prove it

The Microsoft Surface RT is wrapped in a magnesium frame which has proven to be both light and durable as we lead up towards its launch later this week. Microsoft’s labs have now subjected their upcoming tablet to a drop test to show just how much it can withstand abuse.

The test sees the device being dropped to a hardwood floor from a height of 30 inches (76.2 centimeters). The device has been set to record its decent during the test to prove that it is capable of taking on a very plausible day to day accident.

a We unfortunately don’t have access to the end result of the test, but the video does clearly show that the device has survived the drop. It also shows of the 1080p HD video the tablet is capable of capturing.

The Microsoft Surface RT is currently available for pre-order and will go on sale starting October 26th. Have you ordered yours already? or are you waiting for the launch date.
