Microsoft schedules Windows Phone 8 event on October 29

Microsoft has started sending out invites to members of the press for a Windows Phone 8 event in San Francisco on October 29th. Rumors of this even started circulating a couple of days ago, but Microsoft has now made the date official and we will finally get to see some detailed information on Microsoft’s new mobile OS.

We already covered some of the basic features of Windows Phone 8, but Microsoft has been very secretive as they developed the platform, hoping to build up some hype as the launch draws closer.

Even though we have seen what Nokia and HTC have in store for us in terms of hardware, we have still to see how Windows Phone 8 will work on these devices.

We also hope the event will reveal more information on pricing and availability while responding to rumors of a Surface Phone.

We will be offering you live coverage of the event, so be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates.
