[Android app] Google Calendar now available for download on Google Play Store

Google Calendar for AndroidGoogle released a few updates to the Google Play Store today including the ability to purchase credit for your content on the Store’s website and a new Wish List feature. They have also made the Google Calendar app available for download for your Android device through the Google Play Store.

You may know that several manufacturers replace the stock calendar app with one of their own, and if you want a bit of the pure Google experience, you can download the app directly on your device through the Google Play Store or by using the following links:

Some of the new features include:
  • Ability to snooze events from the notifications.
  • Have an “I’ll be late” message automatically sent to your event participants if you are running late.
  • The ability to use pinch-to-zoom to move in and out of a day.
  • The ability to set a home time zone to help you keep track of your planned events when you are travelling.
The only downside to the app is that it requires a device running Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich or higher. There also seem to be issues running the app on HTC devices for some reason.
