The Nokia N97 may be the flagship device on Nokia's catalog, but competition comes from it's own ranks from the Nokia N97 mini. Who will come out on top ?
Size and Display
The mini is smaller than the N97 all around. It also has more rounded edges which feel comfortable in the pocket. The mini is also 22 grams lighter than the N97. The display on the mini is 3.2 inches compared to the 3.5 inches on the N97.
Keyboard
The keyboard on the mini has undergone some significant change based on the reviews on the N97 keyboard. The D-Pad on the left has been replaced with arrow keys on the right side of the mini. The keys on the mini have also been spaced out better for more comfortable typing.
Rear and Camera
The rear of the mini has a metal cover which replaces the plastic one on the N97. The camera also doesn't have a lens cover which received complaints of being scratched. The lens on the mini is said to be scratch resistant. The smaller size also sacrifices on the battery which is 1200 mAh on the mini compared to the 1500 mAh on the N97.
Internal Storage
One of the grandest features on the N97 was it's 32GB of internal storage. This has been sacrificed on the N97 mini which has only 8GB. The reduction probably donates to the next comparison which is the price.
Price
The mini costs €100 lesser than the N97 which contributes to it's selling point.
Conclusion
The Mini may have it's advantages. But most of them may be looked passed by some users who prefer the bigger display and 32GB storage. The performance on the mini is contributed to it's updated firmware which will find it's way to the N97 soon.
