How to use uTorrent Remote on your iPhone

BitTorrent is now offering a web based client of their uTorrent Remote app for iPhone users. uTorrent users can now remotely control their downloads from wherever they are with their iPhone. Torrents can be added, paused and removed using an interface with a look and feel identical to that of the uTorrent application.

The web client allows users to access their downloads from anywhere through a secure web interface which can be accessed on web.utorrent.com and users will have to download the latest falcon release of utorrent to be able to use the feature.

Encryption is protected by a swipe gesture which you will first be presented with. Once you have been validated you will have to enter your username and password to get access to your personal content from your PC client.

Apple has been very careful not to offer torrent clients on their App Store, stating that “Because this category of applications is often used for the purpose of infringing third party rights. We have chosen to not publish this type of application to the App Store.”

Since web applications can still be used without any issues you can use this web interface through your Safari mobile browser without any issues. Once you have accessed the site, be sure to create a shortcut on your homescreen by clicking the Share button on your browser and selecting Add to homescreen.
