Microsoft is currently testing Windows 10 which will unify all Windows devices, including PCs laptops, smartphones, wearables and even the Xbox. While the company has not demonstrated what the platform will look like on smartphones, they have already committed to bring the next version of Windows to all Windows 8 handsets.
A couple of years ago, Microsoft introduced Windows Phone 7 in response to the dominance from Android and iOS. After months of trying to coax new users to their platform, the company suddenly abandoned Windows Phone 7 in favor of Windows Phone 8, leaving all the existing customer with no option but to upgrade their devices.
In looks like Microsoft doesn't want to make the same mistake twice, and appears to have confirmed on its Twitter account that Windows 10 will be released to all Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices. The response also suggests that Microsoft has some Windows 10 phones in the pipeline too, which is no surprise, with rumors of a Lumia 940 with Windows 10 recently circulating around.
@Kalars07 We plan to upgrade all Windows Phone 8 devices to Windows 10 in the future :)

Whats great about this news is that Windows Phone works equally well all handsets, whether it is an expensive Lumia flagship or an affordable smartphone like the Lumia 520 or Lumia 530. By bringing the latest update to their entire device lineup, Microsoft is showing they are committed to bring the best experience to all their customers.
