The Samsung Gear VR was officially announced at today's IFA event, bringing virtual reality to mobile devices. To achieve this, Samsung has had a "deep and integrated partnership" with Oculus, a leader in virtual reality technology.
The Gear VR was described by Oculus CEO, John Carmack as "a virtual reality headset with world class resolution and performance, all on a completely mobile platform. The headset makes use of the 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display on the Galaxy Note 4 for mobile visuals, and is built with soft, flexible cushioning and lightweight materials.
The Galaxy VR features a super accuracy sensor with 20 millisecond processing speed, so the user wont notice latency. When you are wearing the Gear VR you will have a 96 degree viewing angle, which is the same as sitting 2 meters away from a 175 inch mega screen.
