Microsoft Office for iPad updated with printing feature

Microsoft Office for iPad

Microsoft launched its Office suite for the iPad a little over a month ago, but lacked an important feature in the ability to print. Today Microsoft has released an update for its apps which include the ability to print to an AirPrint compatible Printer along with the usual bug fixes and performance improvements.

Printing can be done with or without markup as well. Not surprisingly, Microsoft noted that printing was easily the number-one-requested feature on iPad. The printing feature will work on Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.

You can select print area, pages or slides, just as you would on the desktop version of Office. Microsoft also added SmartGuides to PowerPoint which lets you align images and graphics a bit more evenly. AutoFit in Excel allows you to adjust the width of multiple rows or the height of multiple columns at the same time.

Microsoft says to, “Keep your feedback and requests coming!” The next update is already in the works and it seems pretty clear that Microsoft is listening.
