Amazon demonstrates Fire TV and tablet-exclusive games

Amazon FireTVAmazon has released a video, showing off some of the games that will be exclusively available on its Kindle Fire tablets and new FireTV set-top box. Based on the demos it looks like FireTV may be setting itself up to become a big competitor to the Sony PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

Obviously the FireTV has mobile class hardware, while the gaming consoles from Microsoft and Sony pack desktop class hardware. However its affordable price and seamless and casual gaming titles may lead to its success in the months and years ahead.

Gameloft is one of the manufacturers who have already promised to offer three of its hit titles optimized for the platform – these would be Despicable Me: Minion Rush, Asphalt 8: Airborne, and Modern Combat 4. The games will benefit from improved graphics and fitting control schemes.

What do you think of the Amazon FireTV and the company's upcoming lineup of games? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
