Lenovo S660 officially announced - Affordable all rounder
Lenovo announced three new Android smartphones at the MWC, and the Lenovo S660 is the most affordable in the lineup at just $229 off-contract. Its still a very capable device, packing a 1.3GHz quad-core processor from MediaTek and a high resolution 8 megapixel rear camera. It even comes with a premium brushed-metal finish.
The Lenovo S660 features a 4.7 inch display with a 540 by 920 pixel (qHD) resolution, an 8-megapixel rear camera (and that’s a higher than the average resolution for its class), a 0.3-megapixel VGA front shooter, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, 3G support, dual-SIM connectivity and a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek chip under the hood (likely, the MT6582) with 1GB of RAM.
This hardware should offer a smooth Android experience on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The brushed metal back is said to resist scratches and fingerprints, which is a real treat as devices in its class are generally made of plastic. Its other highlight is its 3000mAh battery which promises "all day battery" life. Its even removable in case you want to carry a spare. Unfortunately it's not among the slimmest (9.95mm), or lightest (0.33lb) phones out there, but the sturdy material should be appreciated.
Would you pick up this affordable phone for its metal body and generous battery life? Voice your thoughts in the comments section below.
