BlackBerry handset with 64 bit octa-core chip coming in 2015

BlackBerry LogoBlackBerry is rumored to be working on a high end device called the BlackBerry "Ontario", which is expected to be powered by a 2.15GHz Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 processor.

The BlackBerry "Ontario" will be part of the BlackBerry "O" series, but the company is expected to release handsets with the same Snapdragon 800 processor on their QWERTY keyboard wielding 'W Series' and their All touch 'B Series'.

BlackBerry is even looking ahead to 2015, when the company is expected to announce a new high-end device powered by the MSM8994 chip. This chip, built using the 20nm process, includes a 64 bit octa-core 2.5GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, an Adreno 430 GPU, and an integrated 4G LTE modem.

BlackBerry has a turbulent year ahead of it, and newly appointed CEO John Chen looks to be making big plans to see the company through.
