The Nokia Lumia 729 for Verizon has leaked through a press image and it shows the device will feature a PureView camera. The Lumia 729 looks to have combined the design of the Nokia Lumia 620 with the Nokia Lumia 720 and is rumored to include an HD display putting it into the mid-range category.
It offers customers a great alternative to the Nokia Lumia 928 flagship, but we wonder if the Nokia Lumia 822 will have a place in the carriers lineup once the Lumia 729 is announced. Especially if it will be adding a PureView camera and an HD diplay compared to the 480 x 800 resolution on the Lumia 822.
We are somewhat disappointed by the way U.S. carriers are offering Lumia smartphones. While AT&T seems to have exclusive access to the newest models, Nokia releases updated versions of that model for Verizon and T-Mobile months after its hype has died down. For example, the Lumia 928 for Verizon and the Lumia 925 for T-Mobile are far from capable of competing with the newly announced Nokia Lumia 1020.
We hope that Nokia will be able to quickly settle into a proper rhythm with their releases in the U.S. and offer devices in a cycle similar to Samsung and Apple.
