In any case, Canonical should have enough Ubuntu users and fans to build a strong base of users willing to test out Ubuntu Phone and tablet. Whether it will be a strong enough building block to compete against a market dominated by Android and iOS is still to be seen. However the slick UI and modern gesture based elements which the new OS offers makes Ubuntu Touch Developer Preview a very promising offering.
