How to make your Microsoft Surface RT touch-screen display more responsive

If you own a Microsoft Surface RT and find yourself unhappy with the touchscreen’s sensitivity, there is a small tweak that can help improve your interaction with the device’s touchscreen. Keep in mind however that making this change can cause a small drop in your battery life. However since it is reversible you can try it out.

Before you proceed make sure you have backed up your important data and keep in mind that we will not be responsible for any issues that may occur on your device as a result of following this guide. If you understand the risks feel free to proceed at your own risk.

The first step requires you to get access to the RegEdit tool. The Registry Editor, also known as RegEdit can be used to make various changes in the core functionality of your operating system. However this is risky as it can cause damage unless you understand how to use it. Once you have opened RegEdit find the following key
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TouchPredict ion".

Now change the latency  to 8 and the sample time to 2. You maybe able to use different values, just keep in mind that the lower the value, the better the responsiveness will be. It will be a good idea not to reduce the values too much if you want to retain your battery life. Once your done, restart your tablet and check the difference.

If you have any doubts with using this method, you can consider heading over to the source link for more information. You will also find an easy to use reg file which you can use instead of manually modifying the registry.
